We sell our goats for pets or breeding stock ONLY. We do not sell to the commercial market or to private buyers for meat. We do not stand our bucks to stud to the public. We do not rent, lease, or lend our goats to anyone. We do not rent, lease or borrow goats from anyone. We do not board animals from another farm. We do not sell does that have been bred. We do not take in does for breeding. We do not send out our does for breeding. We do not take in bucks for breeding nor do we send them out. We do not buy at auctions. We do not disbud any goat due to the pain and potential injury caused by the disbudding iron. We will, however, allow a buyer to have a licensed veterinarian come in to perform disbudding only, prior to 7 days of age, and we will provide post surgical care, if there is a valid reason for having this surgery performed. Any cost involved is the sole resposibility of the buyer and must be paid before the goat is picked up or delivered. We have and will, band the horns of aggressive goats in order to protect the herd and ourselves from injury. Most adult does will be banded to protect the other does and babies that may be within butting distance. Young male goats that we choose to keep will have horns banded to protect those goats we have with no horns. We will neuter all male goats before they begin to show signs of breeding ability unless there has been a non-refundable deposit placed on the male goat for a buyer who wants the goat for breeding purposes. We require a non-refundable deposit of half the purchase price of the goat to HOLD your selection for you. That deposit will only be refunded if the goat dies, is sick, or cannot be sent to his new home for some other unforseen reason. The deposit will not be refunded if you change you mind, can't afford it or don't want it so make sure it is what you want. Buyers will be given as much notice as possible for the date they can pick up their goat. Arrangements must be made with us previous to the actual pick up. If the buyer does not pick up their goat on the arranged date a boarding charge of $5.00 per day per goat will be charged beginning the day AFTER the first arranged pick up date. All fees must be paid before the buyer receives their goat or the goat is shipped. If the buyer does not make arrangements to pick up their goat within 14 days of the first arranged date, all deposits will be forfeit and the goat will be offered for sale. We will not be held responsible for the health or welfare of any goat once is has left our property as we cannot control what this goat may be subjected to after he leaves. We will do everything we can to insure your goat is healthy when he leaves here but we will not be held responsible for sickness or death of any animal after he has left our property. We will not be responsible for veterinarian expeses incurred once the goat is out of our care. We do not breed our does before two years of age. We do not allow a buyer to pick up a kid until that kid is a minimum of 12 weeks old but depending on the kid,and/or the breed of goat, he may be older. We allow our kids a minimum two week transition period for weaning and life without Mom. Many transition periods may extend to three or more weeks or longer to make sure the kid's rumen is properly developed and they can be healthy and happy without milk and without Mom. We insist on a three to four month quarantine period for any new goats brought in. All new goats are treated for lice and worms immediately and will receive necessary vaccinations and any other necessary medication as needed. No one is allowed in the pastures or the barn without permission and supervision. Hands and shoes must be sanitized before handling goats or entering the barn or pastures. Please wear clean clothes to our farm, not your regular barn clothes as disease and illness can be transmitted either to or from our farm on clothes and shoes. No other pets are allowed on our property for the protection of our goats and our own pets. There is no smoking allowed anywhere on our property. This is not a petting zoo. Please do not enter our yard unless you were invited in. There are two large and potentially aggressive Livestock Guardian Dogs on duty in the pasture at all times. It is highly recommended that you and/or your children stay out of the pasture and away from the dogs at all times unless supervised by a staff member. Children are to be supervised by a parent or guardian at all times. Enter at your own risk. We will not be held responsible for sickness, injury or death of any person on our property. These policies are subject to change without notice. |
