Our Pygmy Does are all purebred
animals, however, they are not
registered. My Pygmy herd started out
with unregistered goats and I have
chosen to keep them that way to reduce
the price and to allow me to be more
creative in crossbreeding with Nigerian
Dwarf goats on occasion. In the coming
breeding season I will be crossbreeding
one of my Nigerian Dwarf bucks with
the smaller Pygmy does that I have, in
order to create kids that will will be
very small when they are full grown.
With proper care, lots of love and a little
good luck they will be the healthy,
friendly, colourful kids you have come
to expect from Black Jack Stables.
Pocket Goats are wonderfully friendly, tiny little goats that
are produced by breeding little Pygmy does with little
Nigerian Dwarf bucks. They are strong, well built little
goats with lots of personality and lots of colour. We are
aiming to keep their adult wither height below 18" and so
far, have been successful in doing so. These little goats
have inherited the Pygmy's playfulness and short legs and
necks and the Nigerian Dwarf goat's small stature, light
build and colour. Sort of a Dachshund shaped little goat
without the floppy ears.
Pocket Goats make loving family pets and can be kept in a
smaller arera than a larger goat would require. So if you
have a small paddock or small backyard in the country, a
Pocket Goat might be just the thing for you!

Unfortunately, until the government changes zoning laws,
Pocket Goats are not allowed to be kept in city or town
back yards. Though, when those laws are made to except
goats in a family back yard in town or city,
Pocket Goats
will fit right in!
